Year 1

Year 1 have been carrying on with their work on senses. They went for a walk around school to see what they could hear, teste, smell, touch and see.

Year 1 have been learning about the 5 senses. The children tasted different sweets and tried to guess the flavours. They smelt the pots to see if they could work out what was inside. The children carefully placed their hands into the feely box to see what was inside. They enjoyed a game called 'guess the sound' and used magnifying glasses to look closely.

Year 1 have been learning to name the parts of a face. We used mirrors to observe closely and drew what we could see. We added labels to some of our features.

In Year 1 we have been learning about the body parts. We sang some songs before drawing around our bodies and labelling them. We enjoyed talking about what our body parts are used for. Sadly, all of the photographs on the iPad corrupted.

In Year 1, we have enjoyed watching the life cycle of a butterfly. We learnt about lots of different life cycles and made life cycle hoops.
