Remote Learning for School Closure

Even though we are working hard  to keep our school safe and open, there may be occasions where classes, year groups or even the whole school has to close for a period of time to help stop the spread of the virus.

We are of course hoping this will not happen at Batchley, however we want to ensure our children can carry on learning.

We would like all parents to connect with Classdojo.  everyone should have received a code which allows you to see the rewards your child is receiving in school.  It will also be a great way for us to keep in touch with you over the coming months as everyone becomes more familiar with its use.

What if a class, year group or the whole school had to close?

If your child has to remain at home for any period of time as a result of Covid restrictions, your child's class teacher will use Classdojo to set work in their 'Portfolio'.  The class teacher will set work to be completed online, or on paper and parents may be asked to upload a photograph so that we can feedback and guide their learning.  There will be a range of tasks set such as watching video clips, playing games or completing a worksheet task. Over the next few weeks we will post helps sheets, videos and answer any questions you have to make sure everyone can access their portfolio. In addition each child will be sent home with an exercise book should they need to remain at home.

We will also set ebooks to read so make sure they have their login details.  You should be able to find these in their Reading Record.

Please talk to your child's teacher if you have any queries or need help with login details.
